Focus T25 Alpha – Final stretch

My Monday 7am weigh-in was up a tad from last week’s low (428.6) but I’m past due for a poopin’. The 30 day Beach Body Challenge ends on Wednesday, so today’s weigh-in doesn’t count. Even so, I finished the four weeks (monday to monday) 19 pounds down. Not bad, and should be better by Wednesday. It’s not epic results, but my transformation is an ultramarathon, not a sprint, and I have a lot to take confidence from over the last four weeks.

My weekend eating wasn’t horrible – it could have been much worse, given the opportunity – but I did have a bit of dessert on Saturday. We ate at Malarkey’s, a restaurant with beautiful views of the Long Beach Naples/Belmont Shore bay. We found it last year and it’s been a frequent Saturday lunch spot for us. I got the spinach salad, stuck to water, but opted for dessert of banana fritters and vanilla bean ice cream, which was the entirety of the calories over my target. But…I shared it, and I enjoyed what I ate. It may have helped later in the day.

We went to a spaghetti fundraising dinner at church. There was also a fundraising bake sale, and a fundraising auction that included a ridiculously tempting array of cakes, pies, and other pastries and sweets. I had one small slice of crusty Italian bread (no butter), a small plate of spaghetti with sauce and small meat balls, a small salad with a teaspoon of Italian dressing, and for dessert: a small chocolate-covered strawberry, which was less than 100 calories.  I’d have eaten much more a month ago. The desserts especially. But I instead bid on a pair of personal training sessions. As mentioned, I was about 300 calories above my target for the day, all from the banana dessert, but I don’t regret it. My trainer said that depriving yourself all the time is setting yourself up for failure.

We worked out Saturday, and I stretched Sunday, but I’m still dealing with a bit of pain on my left side (knee to hip). going to keep stretching today.

Feeling good going into the last two days. Already signed up for the next month on the team, so we’ll keep on going.
