This is a journal, of sorts, from a fitty-something year-old guy looking to make the most of the time he has left. With luck and hard work, another 50 years. Among the challenges: A lot of extra weight and not much of a retirement nest egg, and no children. Striving for solutions. One to three steps forward, one to three steps back. Persist while you draw breath.
I’m a software tester by day, aspiring gym rat by night, and this is my blog. In my youth I dabbled in the creative life: singing, writing, acting, and comedy, with enough hints of success to keep at it for a few years, but not enough to pursue full-time. It took me longer than I’d hoped to find a wife, but once I did I held on tight. We’ve been together for more than a decade, and still going strong. She remains a creative type, in the visual arts, and it’s great seeing all her beautiful creations gracing our home and others’.
